Today, phosphine is the most widely used fumigant worldwide for insects control in agricultural stored products.
A new era started in 2001, when Fosfoquim developed the Horn Diluphos System(R), a revolutionary equipment which allows the use of pure cylinderized phosphine for fumigation of agricultural products.
The Horn Diluphos System(R), patented by Fosfoquim, allow the direct dilution of pure phosphine with air through an automated process in a safe way, delivering a mixture of air and phosphine at a known concentration with enough pressure to be distributed on virtually any facility or product to be fumigated.
The operation of the Horn Diluphos System(R) requires power supply, one phosphine cylinder, and one nitrogen cylinder. The operator must follow the instructions given on the equipment screen. The Horn Diluphos System(R) includes a series of safety features which allow performing the fumigation process on a safe way, monitoring a series of operational parameter that must remain within certain limits for the unit to operate normally.
Currently, Fosfoquim offers 5 different Horn Diluphos System models ranging from 0,2 grams per minute up to 190 grams per minute, allowing fumigating from 1 cubic meter ut to 600.000 cubic meter warehouses in short periods.

With the Horn Diluphos System(R) is possible to fumigate grain and seeds, wood and wooden products, dried fruits, and other agricultural products susceptible to be attacked by insects. Additionally, it is possible to perform fumigations on silos, warehouses, mills, ship holds, sea containers, fumigation chambers, cooling chambers or other facilities capable to hold the gas in its interior.
The development of the Horn Diluphos System(R) also opened new fields of application for phosphine, including the fumigation of fresh fruits and vegetables at low temperatures (process patented by Fosfoquim), representing a technical and economically feasible alternative for methyl bromide applications for quarantine treatments required for international trading.
All fumigator are trained by Fosfoquim personnel regarding the use and safety of the operation of the Horn Diluphos System(R), and must approve a written test prior to operate the equipments.
