Presence of pests and insects all over the food supply chain is one of the most difficult challenges the food and feed industry face every day. Pest control processes are mainly focused on storage and transport of goods, being the process buildings on of the weakness of these pest control strategies. In these process buildings, pests and insects find optimal conditions for its development, and the use of contact insecticides is more and more restricted due to food residue tolerances.
Altough phosphine is known to be a highly efficient fumigant to control a wide variety of insects, traditional ways of applying phosphine makes its application infeasible due to corrosion problems in electric and electronic equipment present in process buildings.
FOSFOQUIM FUMIGACIONES, on it continuous focus on developing solutions on the field of pest control, has developed a phosphine fumigation method using pure phosphine which allow an automated injection process, allowing to perform fumigations at low concentrations, reducing the corrosion problems, but still effective to control insects and pests. This is possible through the integration of HDS equipments and our CertiPh3os phosphine monitoring equipments.
This automated injection system allow to maintain the lowest effective concentration on the building, being able to control the insects, avoiding overdose and thus reducing corrosión problems.
FOSFOQUIM FUMIGACIONES´s extensive experience on the field of pure phosphine fumigation together with the HDS and the CertiPh3os monitor allowed the application of this technology to big flour mills, converting Fosfoquim into leaders in this tipe of applications in Chile and the World.
